Florida's Free Hurricane Inspection

Florida kicked off this week its free hurricane inspection, the biggest project a state has undertaken. There has been 23,000 applications and expected to grow to 50,000 by year end. This program is geared to give home owners, free inspection, list of hurricane items to fix, possible grants up to $5K, and discount on their home owners insurance. First you have to apply for state approved home inspection at www.mysafefloridahome.com or 1-800-342-2762 before applying for finanical assistance. To be eligible for the program you must have a valid homestead exemption on single family home, have a home insured value of $500K or less, and have a residential building of 4 units or less.
