Orlando Top 10 Office Investment Markets

Orlando ranks among the top 10 office markets for investment opportunity in the country, according to a report out this week by Grubb & Ellis, the big Chicago-based integrated real estate service company.Grubb's market strength forecast for 2007 to 2011 ranks Orlando as the 8th best office market in the country.

The Washington D.C. metro area came in first with an overall score of 70.8, based on a 0 to 100 scale using 16 property, economic and demographic variables. Orlando, with a 64.7 score, also trailed Los Angeles County, Las Vegas, Dallas/Fort Worth, the Phoenix area, Seattle/Tacoma, and Orange County Calif., but ranked ahead of Houston and Portland in the top 10 strongest office markets.

Grubb said the U.S. economy appears headed for the "elusive soft land" or middle ground between an outright recession and inflation, striking a balance "between commercial real estate leasing and investment markets." Courtesy Orlando Sentinel 1/3/07.
