Orlando Regional Realtor Association surveyed buyers that used a real estate agent in purchasing a home between June 2006 and June 2007. This included both repeat buyers and first timehome buyers. There benefits and results of the survey were as follows:
- 59% Helped buyer understand the process
- 38% Pointed out unnoticed features & faults with the property
- 42% Improved buyers knowledge of specific areas
- 38% Negotiated better sales contract terms
- 34% Shortened buyer's home search
- 29% Negotiated a better price
- 24% Narrowed buyer's search area
- 19% Expanded buyers search area
- 18% Provided better list of mortgage lenders
- 8% None of the above
- 35% Provided a better list of service providers
